Definition - What does Vaporizer mean?
In the recreational and medicinal cannabis industries, a vaporizer is a device that delivers the product in the form of vapor. Vaporizing, or vaping, is the process of heating the dried cannabis, cannabis oil, or cannabis wax, to just below the temperature of combustion.
Using a vaporizer, which is comparable to modern-day e-cigs, or e-cigarettes, the cannabis is heated to about 392°F, at which point a vapor is produced that can be inhaled by the user.
Hydrolife explains Vaporizer
Marijuana vaporizers have been around for years, but it is only recently that the full benefits of vaporization have been fully realized. In general, vaporization is the preferred method for medicinal use of marijuana because almost all the negative side effects and irritants that can arise with smoking are avoided. It is also in some ways more convenient and discreet than other methods of consumption.
There are four main types of vaporizers available on the market, such as:
- Pen size vaporizers that fit right in your pocket.
- Portable vaporizers that are ideal for the person who travels, as they’re slightly larger than the pen size, but not overwhelmingly large.
- Stationary or desktop vaporizers that are larger models intended for home use.
- Whipping vaporizers that are a little unconventional compared to the models that use a fan system. Whipping vaporizers use a tube or balloon delivery.
There’s also balloon and direct draw, but for the most part, all vaporizers work the same by consisting of a heat source and vapor delivery system.
There are so many different choices when it comes to vaporizers, so it is suggested that one works with their prescribing doctor in order to find the right one for the conditions that they wish to treat. Products to be used in vaporizers can usually be found at dispensaries.
